Introduction

A commitment to excellence has been the guiding principle in my career.

I have a general practice, treating a wide-range of people, who struggle with many different psychological/emotional conditions, life transitions, relationship problems; as well as those pursuing personal growth and development.

For over 25 years, I’ve helped thousands of individuals, couples, and families live fuller, happier, and more productive lives. I have helped people successfully navigate significant life challenges, difficulties, and emerge from crisis even stronger. Therapy with the right person can be the key to turning a negative into a positive.

I have earned a reputation of providing high-quality psychological services, about 70 percent of my new clients are personal referrals by existing or former clients. Also, I have been regarded as an expert in different areas of psychology by conducting extensive research projects, producing high-level professional articles, and presenting at numerous national and international venues.

My Goal

My goal is to provide high-quality, professional, and compassionate psychological services for those with a wide variety of “psychological conditions,” individual and family problems, and life transitions. In doing so it is my priority to help people grow personally, reduce psychological distress, cope more effectively, and enjoy life and relationships.

In order to effectively grow or change it is essential to understand the importance of multiple spheres of influence on each person’s well-being. It is important to consider not only psychological functioning, but, other significant domains such as physical health or biochemical balance, social connectedness, and having a sense of meaning or purpose in life. I also appreciate the significance of and integrate childhood and developmental experiences, trauma, family structure, and formative experiences.

My Philosophy

The following principles reflect the general experience people have working with me:

  • Collaborative rather than imposed or "do what I say"
  • Interactive rather than passive
  • Growth oriented rather than a "band-aid"
  • Personal rather than neutral or distant

People of any age can change and improve the quality of their lives. I know change is hard and sometimes seems impossible, but people do not have to just endure their situations. As hard as it can be to face, an opportunity for change or growth exists in most situations. Overcoming personal challenges can lead to a better, more satisfying life.
